The Inside Sales Representative will be solely involved in the VAR side of the business working closely with the assigned Account Executives in outbound prospecting, lead generation, and ultimately helping to close deals to increase GP/Revenue. The Inside Sales Representative duties include support of Account Executives to capture business with a high gross profit and to develop new business at established accounts and/or via targeted, OEM specific telemarketing campaigns at sufficient levels to achieve quota.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Respond to RFQs, source product, quote, configure, process client purchase orders, conduct telesales campaigns, interface with customers and vendor partners for pre- and post-sales support, and proactively work client accounts.
  • Maintain expertise of products and/or services
  • Attain or exceed individual assignments while contributing to team objectives. Receive telephone/email/bid board requests for price quotations (RFQ's), purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors.
  • Prepare price quotations on standard items, process orders, and relay pertinent order information to customers.
  • Coordinate with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.
  • Use computer programs to input and retrieve customer information, status of purchase orders, and to make changes on customer purchase orders.
  • Follow up on inquiries by checking on order and delivery information.
  • Work closely with manufacturers in production control regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Contact distributors to locate requested items to meet customer's delivery requirements.
  • Relay order status/information to customer.
  • Maintain files of active orders and post activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
  • Prepare paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) to be given to accounting department for credit or debit to be issued.
  • Interface with other personnel including (but not limited to) the sales team, IT, contracts, accounting, purchasing, and logistics.
  • Forecast, track, and report on attainment of objectives to C-level management at iGov.
  • Other inside sales responsibilities as required.

Essential Required Experience & Skills:

  • Must have at least 2 years of experience selling technology solutions to government decision makers via telephone and email.
  • A proven track record for exceeding quota on a consistent basis is required.
  • Must be experienced and proven in maintaining a customer base.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand unique government industry requirements and familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations is required.
  • Must be organized, able to multi-task, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with OEMs and IT distributors is required.
  • Must be able to work non-standard hours when required

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must have working knowledge of MS-Outlook, MS-Word, & MS-Excel.
  • Formal Sales Training is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree preferred.
