The Payroll Administrator will be a member of accounting team reporting to the Controller to support payroll functions. The Payroll Administrator manages all functions of the Payroll Process from Costpoint Time and Expense and Labor for submission to iSolved, (formerly GovCon Pay) the external payroll company for iGov.

**This position is part-time approximately 20 hours per week and located in our Reston office.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Process the semi-monthly payroll for employees in multi-states starting in Deltek Costpoint and submitting to third party payroll company for final payroll processing (iSolved).
  • Handle final check of payroll to include monthly commission reports, benefit payouts, benefit deduction set-up and review of all other reports for final submission.
  • Review and maintain employee timecards in Deltek Costpoint Time and Expense in preparation for semi-monthly payroll and process adjustments as necessary.
  • Enter new employee information and terminations in both Costpoint and iSolved to support payroll.
  • Coordinate with HR payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, garnishments, and benefit adjustments
  • Enter Subcontractor data in Costpoint for timekeeping and billing purposes.
  • Respond to supervisor and employee questions regarding payroll issues, timekeeping issues, leave balances, deductions, etc.
  • Provide Leave Balance Reports to appropriate managers.
  • Review and approve W2's and W3's annually.
  • Enter wage garnishments as required.
  • Enter payroll vouchers in Costpoint using general ledger reports and other payroll reports.
  • Maintain and update the Payroll Procedures Manual as necessary.
  • Review 401(k) reports for accuracy for the Empower 401(k) semi-monthly submissions for EDI transmission to iSolved.
  • Assist with financial and other audit requests as required.
  • Assist Head of HR with 401(k) Audit requests for payroll data annually.
  • Timely attendance to ensure payroll is completed on time is an essential function of your job.
  • Other payroll-related tasks as required.

Essential Required Experience & Skills:

  • 5 to 7 years of overall experience processing payroll for a government contractor.
  • Experience working with a third-party payroll provider, preferably iSolved / GovCon Pay or similar system.
  • Ability to understand and process payroll from Deltek Costpoint for submission to third party payroll provider.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Understanding of employment and payroll taxes
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills required.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to provide customer service to employees and managers.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience processing payroll using Deltek Costpoint Time and Expense, preferably having processed an entire payroll in Costpoint.
  • Prior accounting experience is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting and payroll.
